Giorgi srl has been producing flexible hoses with usual
consumption diameters since 1997, that is to say
from DN 6 to DN 300. We became more skilled in
the last years, thanks to the designing and production
of these kinds of components and we have thus
decided to write this catalogue containing all
our GIFLEX type standard hoses.

Corrugated or bent hoses come from
a drawn hoses with or without a longitudinal
welding. These hoses are placed on special
machines that from a number of mechanic or
hydraulic convolutions that may be parallel
or helical according to the flexible hoses
application.
It is very important for the flexible hoses
supporting high pressure to be externally
coated with one or more braids since the
single corrugated part can resist to quite
law pressure.

Folded metal flexible hoses are
obtained from structural band iron which is
helically wound so that each convolution is folded and
attached to the other.
They can be single or double folded, with a
suitable basket among convolutions.

USEFUL INFORMATIONS
Testing pressure

Testing pressure, (or technical
inspection), is carried out on each hose at our plant, before
delivering it to the Customer or mounting it
on the installation.

Radius of curvature
|
The radius of curvature is the one on
wich you can constantly bend the hose, without causing any steel
cracking or deforming convolutions.

Bend radius
|
Band radius has to be respected for
all applications needing a static movement while it must be kept
for dynamic movements.
|
Torsion
|
Never twist flexible hoses, either
folded or corrugated ones. In
folded hoses, the torsion can produce a localised changing
of the diameter while in simple folded hoses
it may cause hoses’ unclinching. You’ll
have to follow the assembling technical specification
for corrugated hoses.

Pressure/Temperature correction factors
|
In order to check using conditions
according to the temperature of our GIFLEX
hoses, You must multiply the correction
factor’s value for the working pressure

Fittings
|
Each flexible hose can have a wide
range of fittings with all materials that are available on the
market. The hose fitting can be made by means of a Silver alloy
welding or tig. This one has got a higher resistance to high
temperatures, up to 800° C while the Silver alloy one can reach
300° C.
